Interactive Educational Puppet Theatre

The role of puppet theatre in child’s development

Do children love listening to stories? And do they love acting? We all know the answers to these questions.
What brings together the stories and acting?
The puppet theatre, of course!
Through the puppet theatre the child gets into a direct contact with the characters and the story situation especially if he/ she participates.

The activity called Interactive educational puppet theatre at “Malvina” gives children an opportunity to experience the magic to “enter” the story and fall in love with the puppet theatre.

The children will have a chance to meet in person the characters of the stories about “Teasing Crabby”, “Obstacle Bug”, “Mocking Ant” and “Rascal Mouse” created by Atanas Tsankov as well as the classic in the Bulgarian literature for children – “The Birch and her Leaves” by Leda Mileva. Both authors are prominent poets and writers for children.

Other stories are yet to be dramatised and the variety is going to be expanded with time. During the activity the little participants will be able to touch the puppets, try to learn the story and perform the show. In the end everyone takes the story booklet home.

• For English-speaking children there is a show in English. The stories are specially translated and adapted for this purpose. This is a chance for these children to experience the magic of Bulgarian stories. And why not inspire them to learn Bulgarian.
• This activity is also offered to international nursery schools to be performed on spot. If you consider this as a good idea for your
educational institution, do not hesitate to contact us. We will be glad to involve your pupils into the puppet adventure.

Activity duration 40-60 minutes /negotiable/.

There are groups for children aged 3-4 and 5-7.
